Oversized Jersey Shorts

Give the wider leg a defined length

Set waist, hip, front and back rise, inseam and hem-opening measurements. Identify where the extra room should appear through the seat and thigh, and show the intended hem position. Oversized does not require the same increase at every chart point.

Specify waistband construction and the measurement condition for elastic styles, including drawcord requirements. Show any difference between front and back hem lengths. Include the sample size and a fit reference for the complete silhouette.

Compare jersey drape on the pattern

Provide proposed composition, weight, shade and finish with a material reference where available. Jersey describes a knit direction; the actual handle and recovery should be reviewed on the selected short pattern. If the shorts coordinate with a top, include that garment’s material and shade references.

Try the sample standing and seated, then moving as intended. Inspect whether the wider leg and pockets hang as planned. Compare flat measurements afterward and review worn length again if the rise or waistband changes.

Position pockets and graphics within the wider panels

Show pocket depth, opening and attachment, with bag material identified where separate. Supply artwork dimensions and a measured placement reference. Check graphic scale on the actual leg, and specify any variation across sizes or matching garments.

Include waistband, size and care label files plus packing requirements. Retain the approved material and garment chart with the decorated sample, recording fit and artwork changes together.
